Former Edgefield correctional officer to plead guilty in corruption case

Prosecutors won't seek prison time against a former correctional officer if he pleads guilty to taking bribes as part of a cigarette smuggling scheme at Edgefield Federal Correctional Institution, according to federal court filings.
Phillip Orlando Coleman will plead guilty to one count of public official accepting a bribe, according to a plea agreement filed last week.
